  Respect \Re*spect"\, n. [L. respectus: cf. F. respect. See
     Respect, v., and cf. Respite.]
     1. The act of noticing with attention; the giving particular
        consideration to; hence, care; caution.
  
              But he it well did ward with wise respect.
