1. either of two large slender food and game fish
({Coryphaena equisetis or Coryphaena hippurus) of warm
waters. They are highly esteemed as food fish, especially
in Hawaii. See also dolphin[2].

genera (esp. Delphinus delphis); the true dolphin.
