Knit \Knit\ (n[i^]t), v. t. [imp. & p. p. Knit or Knitted; p. pr. & vb. n. Knitting.] [OE. knitten, knutten, As. cnyttan, fr. cnotta knot; akin to Icel. kn[=y]ta, Sw. knyta, Dan. knytte.
