Entitle \En*ti"tle\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Entitled; p. pr. & vb. n. Entitling.] [OF. entituler, F. intituler, LL. intitulare, fr. L. in + titulus title. See Title, and cf. Intitule.] 1. To give a title to; to affix to as a name or appellation; hence, also, to dignify by an honorary designation; to denominate; to call; as, to entitle a book ``Commentaries;'' to entitle a man ``Honorable.''
