Chapiter
the ornamental head or capital of a pillar. Three Hebrew words
are so rendered. (1.) _Cothereth_ (1 Kings 7:16; 2 Kings 25:17;
2 Chr. 4:12), meaning a "diadem" or "crown." (2.) _Tzepheth_ (2
Chr. 3:15). (3.) _Rosh_ (Ex. 36:38; 38:17, 19, 28), properly a
"head" or "top."
