     canelle, cinnamon, fr. F. cannelle), Dim. of L. canna a reed.
     Canella is so called from the shape of the rolls of prepared
     bark. See Cane.] (Bot.)
     A genus of trees of the order Canellace[ae], growing in the
     West Indies.
